nail art: easter eggs accent nail

Every Easter morning, my family loaded into the car and joined our friends for homemade cinnamon rolls and a backyard egg hunt. This year, the bright plastic eggs have made their way from the grass onto my nails.

I began by painting my nails with China Glaze Gaga for Green from the ElectroPop collection. This is the first time I’ve worn this polish, and I really, really like it. It’s bright and spring-y without crossing over to the ugly side of green. I’m wearing two coats in the photo below, but I ultimately added a third.

I grabbed five contrasting colors for my accent nail – anything fun and bright will do.

Using a pointy Q-tip dipped in polish, I began dotting irregular ovals onto my ring finger, changing colors after every few dots. I let the colors overlap until I’d filled my entire nail with ovals. There’s no need to be perfect here – just have fun with it.

Allow this nail to dry completely so the colors don’t smear into each other, and then finish with a top coat to add shine and even out the bumpy texture. I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails.

What will you be wearing on your nails for Easter or Passover this weekend? Let me know in the comments!
